The second half of 2023 is going to be an exciting period for car enthusiasts in India, with several highly anticipated car launches and debuts. In this article, we will take a closer look at some of the upcoming models, including the Kia Seltos facelift, Maruti Invicto, Hyundai Exter, and the second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC. These cars belong to different segments, catering to diverse customer preferences and price ranges. Let’s dive in!
1. The much-anticipated debut of the Kia Seltos Facelift is scheduled for July 4th
The upcoming launch of the Seltos facelift in India this month marks its debut in the country, following its global presence since June 2022. This facelifted version brings numerous cosmetic and feature upgrades, along with a new powertrain option. Expect to see significant revisions to the front fascia and rear end, giving the Seltos a refreshed and modern look. The interior will also receive a complete overhaul, featuring twin connected infotainment screens for an enhanced user experience. One of the most notable additions to the equipment list is the ADAS suite, offering advanced safety features. Alongside the existing 115hp, 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines, the new Seltos will also introduce the powerful 160hp, 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine borrowed from the Verna and Carens models.
2. Maruti Suzuki Invicto is scheduled to be launched on July 5th
Maruti Suzuki is set to enter the premium MPV segment for the first time with the launch of the Invicto. Based on the Toyota Innova Hycross, the Invicto will exclusively feature a hybrid powertrain, foregoing the naturally aspirated petrol engine option. This strategy allows Maruti to prioritize fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability. Spy shots of the Invicto reveal minimal cosmetic changes compared to its Toyota counterpart, while the interior remains largely unchanged. However, buyers can expect new color options for the trim and upholstery. Maruti’s decision to omit certain high-end features like the ADAS suite aims to competitively price the Invicto, making it an attractive choice in the premium MPV segment.
3. Hyundai Exter Launch – July 10
Hyundai is gearing up to launch its smallest and most affordable SUV in India, the Exter. Sharing its underpinnings with the Grand i10 Nios and Aura models, the Exter will compete against rivals like the Tata Punch and Citroen C3. Despite its compact dimensions, the Exter exudes SUV styling with its upright and boxy stance, complemented by prominent body cladding. Inside the cabin, Hyundai has incorporated the familiar dashboard design from its sibling models. However, the Exter stands out with its all-digital instrument cluster and dashcam. Powertrain options will include an 83hp, 1.2-liter petrol engine with manual and AMT gearboxes, and a factory-fitted CNG kit for those seeking a more eco-friendly alternative.
4. Second-Gen Mercedes-Benz GLC
Mercedes-Benz will introduce the second-generation GLC in India sometime during the second half of 2023. While the exact launch date is yet to be confirmed, bookings for the GLC have already begun, requiring a token amount of Rs 50,000. The upcoming GLC introduces a dual variant lineup, offering discerning buyers a choice between the GLC 200, equipped with a powerful 2.0-liter petrol engine.
