WHO Response

All WHO Member States are committed to implementing the “Comprehensive Mental Health Action Plan 2013–2030,” which aims to improve mental health through effective leadership, comprehensive community-based care, promotion and prevention strategies, and strengthening information systems and research. However, progress against the action plan targets has been insufficient.

The “World Mental Health Report: Transforming Mental Health for All” emphasizes the importance of valuing mental health, reshaping environments, and strengthening mental health care. Protecting human rights, empowering individuals with lived experience, and adopting a multisectoral approach are key components of WHO’s response.
